Cyclelates Studio(R) was developed by former 4 time World Bodyboarding Champion Steph Pettersen.
After years of training for the World tour of bodyboading Stephanie finally took the steps to place her energy in another area, which she calls “my second love”. Stephanie is a mother of two girls and also an athlete for 23 years. She understands how important it is to be healthy and fit to deal with everyday life.
"Fitness is one of the best stress releases there is and I personally believe it is as important as to eat good and healthy food everyday"…says Stephanie.
Part of Stephanie's intensive training program as an athlete for the past 20 years has included: Road cycling, Indoor Cycling, Yoga, Dancing, weight lifting, Capoeira & Pilates.
Throughout the years Stephanie was well known in the bodyboarding and surfing industry as one of the most fit girls on tour, earning her a new nickname - Stephletic or Letic.
Stephanie has trained in all sort of environments, from big Fitness Centres to small studios around the world. Adding all the experiences together, made her got to the final conclusion to have gained more knowledge and understanding about the body and general training at smaller and personalized gyms and studios.
The whole Cyclelates concept came to Stephanie not long after she fell in love with Pilates. After commencing Pilates classes she found that she didn't have the time to include cardio type exercises in her training program. As a result, she started cycling to her Pilates classes and started to notice the huge benefits of the combination of the two styles of exercise and realised that after Pilates, bike riding was the perfect end to the work out.
Thus the idea of forming Cyclelates Studios came to Stephanie. To form a unique studio where people of all ages could also enjoy the same perfect workout, which Stephanie personally calls - The Yin & Yang work out (TM) - which became possible with the addition of Indoor Cycling, also known as Spinning.
Stephanie also created a new concept within the Cyclelates Studio called CycleBoxing(TM).
